Organizing for Change in the West

Organizing for Change in the West

with Bob Gerner & Tom Hanlon-Wilde

Live Zoom Event Thursday, April 16

3-4pm Eastern | 2-3pm Central | 12-1pm Pacific

To celebrate our 40th Anniversary, Bob Gerner, founder of the Natural Grocery Company, sits down with Equal Exchange’s Tom Hanlon-Wilde to reflect on our shared history of building consumer motivation for healthy, fair food systems in the Western United States.

In the course of his career, Bob founded two pioneering companies, converted his business to an employee-owned company, became an important investor in Equal Exchange, and gave a hand up to dozens of small-scale fair trade businesses in California’s East Bay. We’ll hear his recounting of the natural foods movement’s energy during that time, and remember other key individuals who played a pivotal role in our own journey to build out West Coast operations.

We invite you to engage in a conversation about organizing for change and the impact of consumer movements over time. Join us!
