Connecting Through Coffee: Reflections From Our Peru Delegation

Connecting Through Coffee: Reflections From Our Peru Delegation

Live Zoom Event Wednesday, September 30

1-2pm Eastern | 12-1pm Central | 10-11am Pacific

We are excited to invite you to join us for a unique, first-hand report-back from folks freshly returned from a visit to our coffee cooperative partners in Peru. Hear from Equal Exchange worker-owner Greta Merrick, Citizen-Consumer Mark Winne, and wholesale customer Virgina Herbaugh of Weavers Way Co-op as they recount an on-the-ground learning experience like no other.

Follow along with their travelogue as they share the relationships that opened up deeper connections to the coffee supply chain and the Sol & Café cooperative in Peru's northern Cajamarca coffee-growing region. Delegations like these are a life-changing opportunity to bridge the gap between our morning coffee and the lives and landscapes where it originates. Equal Exchange has sponsored these trips for nearly thirty years, bringing groups to stay on the farm—and in the homes—of the farmers we purchase from, creating deep impressions for everyone involved.

Come to learn about the inspiring organization Sol & Café has built, learn details about coffee cultivation, from seed to export (and the MANY tactile steps in between), and leave with a deeper appreciation for the care and commitment of the farmers we rely on. This report-back promises to be an engaging and eye-opening experience. We hope you can join us!
